World Philosophy
Description
This course explores what it means to live a good life, drawing on a selection of the world's most influential intellectual traditions, ancient and modern. It may be taken in addition to the Western Philosophy course, as they cover mostly different, complementary material.
The course is organized around a series of lectures from the Great Courses, which discuss the philosophical perspectives articulated in major written works from great civilizations both ancient and modern. Core and optional readings are scheduled to be completed in conjunction with the lectures.
