United States History 1
Description
If you have been following our history curriculum in previous grades, your child will have surveyed American history as part of world history but not yet studied it in depth. Our curriculum focuses on American history in sixth through eighth grade using the series A History of US.
However, this sequence is not required and you may alternatively choose to schedule the American history course for earlier grades and save world history for later grades. The History of US is written for middle school students, but can be read aloud to students in earlier grades as well.
This course covers the first three books of the series, from prehistory to the end of the American Revolution. To complement the main course book, the curriculum contains a selection of biographies and fiction books that bring to life various periods of American history, and a fun and educational animated video series about the American Revolution.
