Historical Fiction
Description
This half-credit elective is a great fit for students who are interested in books that immerse them in other times and cultures. It consists of reading a variety of historical fiction works by prominent, mostly contemporary, authors, which span time periods from the Ice Age to the early 20th century, and cultures from Africa, Asia, Europe and the Americas.
There are so many wonderful historical fiction books that it was a real challenge to choose just six for this course. Feel free to add your own favorites! Students should enjoy these books, and come away with an appetite to read more works of historical fiction in the future.
